reality tv round-up

Because I suck, I haven't updated this blog in AGES! So here you go now with my reaction to the reality TV finales from last month.

American Idol -- I'm glad Blake came in second. I think it's gotten to a point with this where second is actually better than first. You don't have as many restrictions on your work and can be more creative without Clive Davis breathing down your throat. And really, I liked Blake the most. What can I say? Beat-boxing to Bon Jovi was just damn cool.

Dancing with the Stars -- So check out the entry two down from here where I predicted that Joey Fatone or Apolo Anton Ohno would win this thing. I was so right! They were the top two and Apolo won and I love that. He was just so good! So yeah, count me among the old ladies who thought he was cute.

why i'm a nerd

Among many other reasons, I got geeked out last night during the Dancing with the Stars Results show when Drew Lachey made a guest appearance doing his freestyle dance from last year. You have to admit though, it's a pretty awesome freestyle dance. That being said, "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy" is now stuck in my head, which is all kins of suckiness.

That beings said, is anyone else watching the show this season? It's been interesting so far, but I have to say that Leeza Gibbons' leather number the other night was pretty scary. In fact, I think a few of those dancers outfits are pretty freaky considering I'm always ready for them to break a strap and have the whole thing fly off. They must have to have a tape delay for that or something.

So far, I'm predicting Apolo Anton Ohno and Joey Fatone in the top two. We'll see how that holds up.

dancing with that one guy...

I Love the 90's called. They want their dancers back.

Apparently, someone at ABC is starting to leak the names of the dancers on the next installment of Dancing with the Stars. Ok, you can stop laughing at me now for liking the show. Anyway...included on the list are Joey Fatone from 90's band N Sync, Billy Ray Cyrus who sang the 90's hit song Achy Breaky Heart, and Ian Ziering from 90's show 90210. If you don't recognize his picture on the left, you're probably under the age of 18. Just a guess.

So please tell me I'm not going to be the only loser watching this show. I am, right? I do have to admit though that this show is another reminder of why Tivo is so great. Set up the Tivo to record the show, but don't start actually watching the show until at least 15 minutes in. That way you can skip the commercials and the really bad dancers [re: Tucker Carlson and Master P] and yet still find out who gets kicked out LIVE instead of on your Tivo delay.
